| Flood insurance is NOT COVERED by any homeowner or dwelling policy. Flood insurance is available to anyone regardless of whether they live in a flood plain or not. Living in a flood plain only means that you are required to have flood insurance (if you have a mortgage). Many people who do not live in a flood plain still need flood insurance. Many companies can issue flood policies but only for servicing. FEMA controls rates and coverage on all flood insurance and the rates are relatively inexpensive. For someone not in a designated flood plain, there is a policy called the "Preferred Risk Policy" and some of the rates for this are shown below. Dwelling Contents Annual premium $100,000 $40,000 $257.00 $150,000 $60,000 $296.00 $200,000 $80,000 $326.00 Contact us at 817-261-4566 or by email at Richard@DawsonInsurance.us or Misty@DawsonInsurance.us if you have any questions.
